Psychoeducational Testing

Several young children at a table together making art projects.

Strong Start Psychological Services is a specialty early childhood psychology practice that offers psychoeducational testing to young children ages three through six for the early identification of intellectual potential and school readiness/early achievement. This is a service for young children whose parents are not applying to have their child enter kindergarten early in NC but who would like an objective measurement of their child's early skills. Results of this testing can be invaluable to parents as they decide on appropriate daycare/preschool placement and focus on recommended strategies to foster their child's future academic success.

This psychoeducational testing assesses across the following:

  • Cognitive skills/Intelligence
  • School Readiness/Early Achievement

Our Approach

Several young children running down an outside corridor with backpacks, smiling.

Our approach to psychoeducational testing is to provide an excellent, individualized experience for each child and family. The goal of testing is to highlight a child's strengths and to take note of any areas that may require additional support. We believe that having a baseline of a child's early skills helps parents in their planning to ensure that their child's school placement is a good fit, ultimately fostering their early and future academic success.
