Autism Testing

Young boy crawling in a blow-up gym, smiling

Strong Start Psychological Services is a specialty early childhood psychology practice that offers autism testing as part of our Comprehensive Developmental & Psychological Testing service for young children ages two through six. When a parent, provider, or other adult has a concern that a young child may have autism spectrum disorder, we complete comprehensive developmental and psychological testing that assesses for autism spectrum disorder specifically, while also "ruling in" and "ruling out" other concerns.

The goal of our autism testing service is to complete comprehensive testing with young children to identify a child’s individual strengths and areas of need, and to provide diagnostic clarity and appropriate recommendations to support parent(s)/caregiver(s) in fostering their child’s ongoing growth and development. Many other early childhood concerns can "look like" autism, and at the same time, there is often overlap or "comorbidity" amongst many early childhood concerns, all of which makes a comprehensive autism testing approach imperative. Any child for whom a parent, provider, or other adult has a concern for autism spectrum disorder would benefit from the autism testing that is part of our Comprehensive Developmental & Psychological Testing service.
